My Shopping Trip to Target - Wednesday, 09/22/2010

Today, I stopped at Target for my Rock Bottom prices. I wonder how many people are aware that you can use one Target In Store Coupon and one Manufacturer's coupon per item. If you go to Target.com, at the bottom of the page, they have a link to their In Store coupons. When used together and there is a sale on the item, the savings could be great and you can get "Rock Bottom Prices".

The Layette Ministry at my church is presently requesting donations for different baby items (diapers, wipes, baby wash, baby lotion, etc). Also, as I have three cats, they are always in the need for cat litter. Target was having a good sale on the cat litter and I had some great coupons.

I did different tranactions for my different items as I had problems last week with the total amount of my purchase. I have learned that this is happening to many others, too!

Here is what I purchased today:

Transaction #1:

2 Huggies 72 count wipes: Regular Price: $3.29 - 65 cents off (on sale) = $2.64 - 75 cent (Target In Store Coupon) = $1.99 - 75 cent MFC = $1.24 x 2 = $2.48

1 Huggies 72 count wipe: Regular Price: $3.29 - 65 cents off (on sale) = $2.64 - 75 cent (Target In Store Coupon) = $1.99 - $1.99 (This should have been $2.50 for my MFC coupon that I had) = FREE

TOTAL OOP: $2.48 + .36 cents sales tax = $2.84 for 3 or 94.66 cents each!

Total saved: $5.44

NOTE: I just realized that I was overcharged. I had a manufacturer's coupon for $2.50, not $1.99. So actually, Target owes me 51 cents on this deal. (So I did not receive my Rock Bottom Savings on these items, . . . well, just not yet!! I will update my blog when I do.

------------------

Transaction #2

1 Huggies Snug and Dry Size 1 (50 count): $8.99 - $3.00 (Target In Store coupon) = $5.99 - $3.00 MFC = $2.99 + .49 sales tax = TOTAL OOP - $3.48.

Total Saved: $6.00

---------------------------

Transaction #3

2 Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes - Regular Price: $4.79 - 80 cents (on sale) = $3.99 - $1.50 (Target In Store Coupon) = $2.49 - $1.50 MFC = 98 cents x 2 = $1.98 + 40 cents (Sales Tax) = $2.38 for both, or $1.19 each

Total Saved: $7.60

----------------------------

Transaction #4

Pace Chucky Salsa - 24 ounces - Original price: $3.13 - $1.29 clearance savings = $1.84

Vaseline Aloe Fresh Hydrating Body Lotion: $2.69 - $1.50 (Target In Store Coupon) = $1.19 - $1.00 MFC = 19 cents

Total: $2.03 + 10 cents (Sales Tax) = TOTAL OOP - $2.13

Total Saved: $4.04

--------------------------

Transaction #5

2 Arm and Hammer 40 lbs cat litter: $12.99 (on Sale) - $3.00 MFC (x2 - Septembers All You magazine, page 158) = $9.99 x 2 = $19.98 + $1.70 (Sales Tax) = Total OOP - $21.68 - $5.00 Gift Card = $16.68 for both or $8.34 each.

Total Saved: $16.60

---------------------------------------------

TOTAL OF ALL TRANSACTIONS: OOP - $32.51 - $5.00 gift card = $27.51

TOTAL SAVED: $39.68

My Shopping Trip to ToyRUS - Sunday, 09/19/2010

While browsing the web today, I came acrossed something interesting. ToysRUs is having Geoffrey's Birthday party and having a good sale. On alot of the items, if you purchase 2 of them, you get the third item free!!!

In the USA that comes in the Sunday paper, there was a coupon for $4.00 off of Sorry and Monopoly. HMM!!! Those two games were on sale at ToyRUs for $7.99. After using coupons, $3.99 a game!!! You could also print two coupons at Hasbro.com (http://www.hasbro.com/).

I got four coupons together and drove to my local ToyRUs store. Here is what I purchased:

2 Sorry games: Regular price: $16.99 - $9.00 (for sale) = $7.99 x 2 = $15.98 - $8.00 ($4.00 x 2 MFC)= $7.98

2 Monopoly games: Regular price: $12.99 - $5.00 (on Sale) = $7.99 x 2 = $15.98 - $8.00 ($4.00 x 2 MFC) = $7.98 - $7.99 (one for free) = +$0.01

My subtotal: $7.97 + $1.94 (Sales Tax) = TOTAL OOP - $9.91, or $2.47 a game

Savings: $35.99

After coming home, I put these games away so that I can donate them at Christmas Time to different charitable organizations.

Starting Out

Hi,

My saving money usings coupons started three weeks ago when I was at CVS Pharmacy buying cat food. That day, I saved over $38!!!

When I got home, I started searching on the internet and came acrossed how to get some good deals at CVS and then I found out Walgreen's too!

Since then, I have saved a ton of money. I have stocked our pantry and bathrooms again with stuff that we use on a daily basis. I also have a stockpile of goods that I plan on going through and giving some things to charity.

I found that there are some really good deals out there, you just have to have patience and be organized.

This is my journal of savings!!!
